CLO 1: Explore and analyze, in writing and reading, a variety of genres and rhetorical situations.

Throughout the semester, we read literary works such as Mrs.Flowers by Mary Angelou, Autobiography of Fredrick Douglass, Malcolm X and many students samples. By exploring all these different types of writings, I was able to gain a better understanding of genre and rhetorical situations.

We also wrote our own papers with different genres such as literary narratives, expository essay and argumentative essays. By keeping all the rhetorical situations in mind, writing all these different types of paper was easier and made distinguishing their genres very clear.
