CLO #3: Recognize and practice key rhetorical terms and strategies when engaged in writing situations.
In the beginning of the semester, I thought the rhetorical situations were just textbook terms that were required be taught in an English class. I never realized how much rhetorical situations required and present in many writings. As the semester went on, I began to realize that I was using all the rhetorical strategies in my writings. Keeping the strategies in mind and using them as I wrote my papers helped me write a more structured and on topic paper. Essays such as the expository essay and my argumentative essay were able to be distinguished because I used different purpose, audience, and stance for them. Keeping the rhetorical situation in mind also led me to do my research differently. For my argumentative essay, I only researched the negative effects of deforestation (my topic for the argumentative essay). Whereas, for my expository essay, I researched every data, facts and opinions on deforestation.
